A Christmas story for Theodore

Here is how a story called "Theodore and the Crooked Sleigh" might begin:

The scent of pine filled Theodore’s cozy cabin, mingling with the aroma of hot cocoa. Outside, the world was a silent, snow-dusted wonderland. He was meticulously arranging a miniature wooden reindeer on the mantelpiece when a sharp 'CRACK!' echoed from the woods, making him jump. It wasn't the sound of a tree branch breaking, but something more deliberate, followed by a soft, metallic groan. Peeking through the frosted window, he saw a glimmer of red in the deepest part of the forest, and a peculiar, tilted shadow.

What happens next? Theodore's curiosity leads him to discover a peculiar mishap in the quiet, snowy woods.
