A Christmas story for Lucy

Here is how a story called "Lucy and the Windblown Wish" might begin:

At the quiet house at the end of the lane, Lucy was tracing patterns on the frosted window. The silence of Christmas Eve was profound, broken only by the gentle hiss of the falling snow. Suddenly, a gust of wind, stronger than any before, swooped down, rattling the old oak tree outside and then, with a soft 'thwip', something brushed against the window. It was a single, brightly colored letter, sealed with a snowflake wax stamp, now fluttering just out of reach, caught on a low-hanging branch, clearly addressed to 'The Spirit of Giving'.

What happens next? Lucy will retrieve the windblown letter and discover it holds a plea that only she can answer.
