A Christmas story for Leah

Here is how a story called "Leah and the Star Metal's Secret" might begin:

The lighthouse lantern spun its slow, hypnotic circle over the churning, frozen sea, a beacon against the vast, dark night. Leah, snuggled in her window seat, watched the frosty breath of the waves crash against the shore. A sudden, sharp crack, like ice splitting, made her jump. It came from the rocky beach below. Her father, the lighthouse keeper, was already grabbing his thick coat. When he returned, his brow was furrowed. In his hand, he held a curious piece of metal, smooth and impossibly light, yet strong. It was embossed with a single, perfectly etched star, and felt strangely warm to the touch.

What happens next? Leah soon discovers this unique metal piece is a vital component for a crucial Christmas vehicle, now grounded by its unexpected absence.
