A Christmas story for Lainey

Here is how a story called "Lainey and the Whispering Ice Elf" might begin:

The scent of crackling pine and spicy cider filled Lainey’s cozy cabin, nestled deep within the snow-laden forest. Outside, the world was a silent, sparkling tableau of white and evergreen. Lainey was carefully hanging the last popcorn garland on their small tree when a peculiar sound reached her ears – a soft, melancholic hum, like a distant, lonely choir. It seemed to come from the deepest part of the woods. Peeking through the frosted window, she saw not an animal, but a single, delicate ice sculpture of an elf, its tiny hands held out, seemingly pleading. It was shimmering with an inner light, far too magical for ordinary ice.

What happens next? Lainey soon realizes this enchanted ice elf is a messenger, its melody carrying a vital warning about a crucial Christmas delivery.
