A Christmas story for Henry

Here is how a story called "Henry and the Whispering Cake" might begin:

The air in the bakery was thick with the sweet scent of cinnamon, gingerbread, and anticipation. Henry, usually bustling around, found himself mesmerized by the delicate swirling patterns on the top of a grand, iced Christmas cake. Suddenly, a tiny, almost invisible tear appeared in the frosting, spreading like a spiderweb. He leaned closer, and from the crack, a faint, almost magical shimmer emerged, followed by the faintest whisper of a voice, sounding strangely... worried. It seemed the cake wasn't just cake.

What happens next? Henry soon discovers that this magical Christmas cake holds a surprising and urgent secret.
