A Christmas story for Alexander

Here is how a story called "Alexander and the Spinning Star" might begin:

Laughter, music, and the joyful clamor of a big, noisy family filled Alexander's house. He loved the festive chaos, but sometimes, a little peace was needed. He’d retreated to his bedroom, attempting to draw, when he noticed a peculiar shimmer emanating from under his bed. It wasn't dust, or a forgotten toy. Reaching underneath, his fingers brushed against something smooth and cold. He pulled out a small, intricately carved wooden top, its surface etched with tiny, almost invisible, starry patterns. As it spun, it hummed a faint, enchanting melody.

What happens next? Alexander discovers a magical toy that holds a surprising and urgent connection to Christmas night.
