A Christmas story for Valentina

Here is how a story called "Valentina and the Journey's Gift" might begin:

Valentina’s big, noisy family house was a joyful chaos of laughter, carols, and the clinking of plates on Christmas Eve. Her cousins chased each other, her aunts sang off-key, and the air hummed with festive energy. Valentina, seeking a moment of quiet, slipped into the dimly lit hallway. There, half-hidden beneath a mountain of coats, she spotted a small, perfectly wrapped gift, tied with a rich crimson bow. It looked important, too elegant for their usual boisterous presents. On the tag, in elegant cursive, it simply said: "For the Journey. Do Not Open Before Departure." But the 'D' in Departure was smudged, almost gone.

What happens next? Valentina soon discovers this mysterious gift contains a crucial component for a very important delivery, now in danger of being overlooked.
