A Christmas story for Joshua

Here is how a story called "Joshua and the Lumina Feather" might begin:

The mountain village was quiet, the snow muffling all sound. Joshua, tucked snugly in his bed, listened to the distant hoot of an owl. The air was crisp and still, the stars overhead like scattered diamonds. Suddenly, a low, rumbling sound vibrated through the floorboards, not like thunder, but deeper, more ancient. It was followed by a soft, almost musical 'thrumming,' growing louder, closer. Joshua peered out his window. High above the tallest peak, a cloud of sparkling, luminous dust was swirling, descending slowly. And from its heart, a single, glowing feather, longer than his arm, drifted down, landing with a soft whisper on the fresh snow outside his window.

What happens next? Joshua discovers this otherworldly feather holds a vital connection to a powerful mountain spirit and Christmas.
