A Christmas story for Jayden

Here is how a story called "Jayden and the River Goose" might begin:

Jayden’s houseboat bobbed gently on the winter river, a tiny, cozy world amidst the frozen banks. He loved watching the reflections of the city lights dance on the dark water. Tonight, the moon was a perfect silver coin, illuminating the slow, graceful descent of giant snowflakes. He was tracing patterns on the frosty window when he saw it: a small, dark object drifting lazily towards their mooring. It looked like a miniature boat, but it moved with an odd, deliberate purpose. As it drew closer, Jayden realized it wasn't a boat at all, but a beautifully crafted wooden goose, and clutched in its beak was a folded, shimmering paper.

What happens next? Jayden discovers the wooden goose carries a plea for help from a very special, faraway place.
