A Christmas story for Christian

Here is how a story called "Christian and the Tapping Snowflake" might begin:

The scent of burning pine logs filled Christian’s cozy cabin, a comforting aroma on the quiet Christmas Eve. Outside, the snow-laden pines stood majestic and still under a canopy of countless stars. Christian was reading by the fire, a book of old winter tales, when a peculiar, rhythmic tapping started on the window. It wasn’t a branch, too precise. It sounded like someone tapping with a tiny, hard object. He peeked through the frost and saw a small, intricately carved wooden snowflake, its delicate points tapping gently against the glass, and from its center, a tiny, almost invisible wisp of smoke curled upwards.

What happens next? Christian soon realizes the magical snowflake is trying to send an urgent message about a frosty Christmas predicament.
